Bavel DTLA

Bavel is the hip, Middle-Eastern sister restaurant to its always-packed predecessor Bestia. Husband-and-wife chef duo, Ori Menashe and Genvieve Gergis have created a unique, flavor-forward menu, blending cuisines of their respective native countries of Israel, Morocco, Turkey and Egypt. Located in the Arts District of DTLA, Bavel offers a fun and lively atmosphere, complete with an open kitchen, lush plant-adorned interior spaces and an outdoor, covered patio.

We recommend ordering numerous small dishes to share. A couple of our favorites include the creamy and chunky garbanzo Hummus, as well as the smoked eggplant Baba Ghanoush. There are many pita bread options to choose from to accompany your spreads, but we especially loved the fried version; who knew pita could be so delicious? In addition to the small plates and spreads on Bavel’s mouth-watering menu, be sure to try their variety of flatbreads – including Lamb, Mushroom and Malawach – as well as their savory entrees. And rounding out the menu is a decadent selection of cocktails and desserts that you won’t want to pass up. Afiyet olsun! (To your health!)
